Clusia sp.

In the tropical rainforest Clusia is a well represented bush and tree genus.   It is a hemiepiphyte, which means that it starts its life as an epiphyte,  but later becomes terrestrial by extending its roots down to the ground. Clusia fruits are fleshy and have many residual apical stigmas.   Seeds are small and are imbedded in a red-orange aril that attracts birds.
